Ne loupez pas l’avant-dernier décollage de la navette spatiale américaine !

La navette spatiale américaine est en train de tirer sa révérence. L’avant dernier décollage, qui sera effectué par Endeavour lors de la mission STS-134, aura lieu le 16 mai prochain. Le lancement devait avoir lieu le 29 avril, mais a été reporté en raison d’un problème technique (il faut rappeler que ces navettes, malgré plus de 130 missions, restent des prototypes expérimentaux – d’où des coûts de fonctionnements élevés et de nombreux aléas). La mission devrait durer une quinzaine de jours pour un retour prévu le 30 mai. La navette transportera deux nouveaux éléments de l’ISS pour réaliser des expériences.

Vous pourrez suivre le lancement (et normalement l’atterrissage 15 jours plus tard) en direct depuis cette page. Le lancement est donc prévu le 16 mai 2011 à 12h56 UTC, soit 14h56 local en France.

Je vous donne ensuite rendez-vous pour l’ultime lancement de navette spatiale américaine, la mission STS-135, qui devrais être assuré par Atlantis aux alentours du 28 juin 2011. A partir de cette date, la Russie deviendra la seule nation au monde disposant d’un véhicule spatial capable d’emporter et de ramener des hommes à bord de la Station Spatiale Internationale (ISS), grâce aux capsules Soyouz.

Mesure particulière, durant les périodes de lancement, des NOTAM sont déposés pour fermer l’espace aérien au dessus de Cap Canaveral (voir la deuxième partie de ce billet), logique. Une zone de 30 NM centrée sur la zone de lancement est totalement prohibée, et une seconde est un peu plus perméable. La zone restreinte donne ceci :
